Punjab’s War on Corruption: Maan Government’s Zero Tolerance Policy

In an unprecedented action, Punjab Police has dismissed 52 officers in a single sweep, marking one of the most significant crackdowns on corrupt officials.

From the very day he took office on March 23, 2022, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann made one thing clear, there will be no place for corruption in his government. With a firm commitment to transparency and accountability, the Maan Government launched a decisive campaign against corruption, introducing a 'Zero Tolerance Policy' that spares no one not even ministers and legislators from his own government.

To empower the public in this fight, a dedicated WhatsApp helpline (9501200200) was introduced, allowing citizens to report corruption directly. This bold move ensures that governance remains clean, efficient, and responsive to the people of Punjab.

Cracking Down on Corrupt Officials

In an unprecedented action, Punjab Police has dismissed 52 officers in a single sweep, marking one of the most significant crackdowns on corrupt officials. These dismissals were not limited to lower ranks among them were an inspector, five assistant sub-inspectors, four head constables, and 42 constables, all found guilty or accused in corruption cases.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s administration had earlier instructed all district police commissioners and SSPs to identify and act against officials engaged in corrupt practices, misconduct, criminal activities, or those who had been absent from duty for extended periods. This decisive action reflects the government's unwavering commitment to clean governance.

Introducing Tech-Driven Policing: E-FIR for Stolen Vehicles

The Maan Government is not just fighting corruption it is also revolutionizing law enforcement to better serve the people. In a significant step towards modernizing policing, Punjab Police is introducing an E-FIR system for stolen vehicles. Victims will soon be able to file FIRs online through the Saanjh Portal, eliminating the need for lengthy procedures at police stations. This initiative ensures swift action and makes crime reporting more accessible and hassle-free.

Punjab’s First E-Police Station on the Horizon

Taking another leap toward high-tech policing, the state government is working on establishing Punjab’s first E-Police Station. The goal is to minimize direct interactions between citizens and police officers, reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enhancing efficiency. Currently, under the 'Saanjh Project,' Punjab Police offers 43 online services, ensuring smooth and citizen-friendly governance.

A New Era of Good Governance

The Maan Government is setting a new standard for governance in Punjab one where corruption has no place, and public services are driven by technology and efficiency. With strong leadership, bold actions, and people-friendly policies, the state is on a path to becoming more transparent, accountable, and responsive.

Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, Punjab is witnessing a transformation one where honesty, integrity, and good governance take center stage. This is not just a campaign against corruption; it is a movement towards a better Punjab, where every citizen’s voice matters, and justice is swift and fair.
