Nuh Violence: Curfew Relaxed From 3-5 Pm, Decision On Internet Tomorrow, No Woman Arrested, Say Haryana Cops

In a press conference on Wednesday, Prashant Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), announced a relaxation in the curfew timings.

Days after violence engulfed Nuh and certain parts of Gurugram districts in Haryana, the top officials have announced a temporary relaxation in curfew timings from 3 pm to 5 pm today. In a press conference on Wednesday, Prashant Pawar, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), announced a relaxation in the curfew timings. "Today, the curfew will be relaxed from 3 pm to 5 pm, and a review will be conducted to determine further actions, with a decision expected to be made tomorrow," Prashant Pawar said during the press address.

Varun Singla, the Superintendent of Police (SP), mentioned that a decision regarding resmumtion of internet services will also be made tomorrow. "Currently, 41 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered in four police stations, and 116 individuals have been arrested in connection with the recent events," SP said in the presser.

Singla stated that the police are closely monitoring social media accounts. Those arrested may be taken on remand to uncover the conspiracy behind the incidents. Additionally, he said any rioters found to have used legal weapons, their licenses will be revoked, and illegal weapons will be confiscated.

Regarding the recent gathering, Singla mentioned that similar visits have occurred in the past, and for this particular yatra, 800 police personnel were deployed to maintain order.

Prashant Pawar raised questions about the sudden influx of a large number of people at one location and stated that it is a matter of investigation. He added that a peace meeting had been organized before the yatra took place.

Varun Singla highlighted that among the arrested individuals, there are no women; all those apprehended are young males.

Meanwhile, amid the prevailing tension, the Delhi Police has beefed up security at the sensitive places in the national capital. The police have stated that additional police forces have been deployed where necessary and any attempt to harm security and communal harmony in the national capital will be dealt with strictly, as reported by the news agency ANI.
