Man Stripped Half-Naked, Forced To Lift Shoe With Mouth In MP. Accused Held After 2 Years
A man and his two accomplices were arrested after a two-year-old video of them beating a man and forcing him to lift a shoe with his mouth went viral.
In yet another shocking incident in Madhya Pradesh, a man was stripped half-naked, punched, and forced to pick up a shoe with his mouth in Rewa district, reported PTI. The 34-year-old man was tied with his hands back by the culprit and his two accomplices and was made to life shoe with his mouth. According to the police, the prime accused and his two aides were arrested two years after the incident occurred based on a viral video, reported PTI. In the video, as per the agency, the victim can be seen pleading for mercy.
The agency quoted a police officer as saying that a property dispute seems to be the prima facie trigger behind the crime.
"On seeing the video, we have arrested the prime accused Jawahar Singh (55), a member of the Gond tribe, and his two accomplices," Rewa Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh told PTI. He added that the video was recorded in May 2021 at Piprahi village under the Hanumna police station limits in Rewa but it started doing rounds of social media last week.
Police said that the prime accused is tribal and the victim belongs to the upper caste. The police officer said the prime accused works as a clerk at a government school and is the husband of a village sarpanch. "He kidnapped the other man, stripped him half naked, tied his hands behind the back, punched him, and made him pick up a shoe by his mouth," the SP said.
An FIR has been registered against Jawahar Singh and two others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code on Saturday and the trio has been sent to judicial custody.
Meanwhile, after the Sidhi urination incident sparked massive outrage, another caste-related crime has emerged from Madhya Pradesh where a Dalit man has claimed he was smeared with human waste for mistakenly touching an upper caste man. The incident took place in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district and a case has been lodged against the accused Ramkripal Patel, who belongs to an OBC community. A police officer told PTI that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions after the victim, Dashrath Ahirwar, approached the police on Saturday.
