As Heavy Rains Lash Pune, 3 Electrocuted To Death While Trying To Move Food Stall
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'Red' alert for the Pune district, advising people to take precautions.
Three people died by electrocution on Thursday near the Z bridge on the Mutha River in Pune, Maharashtra. The incident occurred around 3 am, when the victims were trying to move a food stall after the water level in Mutha River rose, Swapnali Joshi, a senior police inspector at Pune's Deccan Police Station was quoted as saying by ANI. The deceased were between the ages of 18 and 25.
Heavy and incessant rains have wreaked havoc in Pune, and several houses and residential societies in low-lying areas in the city have been inundated, leading authorities to evacuate certain areas, according to PTI.

According to the PTI report, four individuals have died in rain-related incidents
In another incident, one person died and another sustained injuries in a landslide at the Tahmini ghat in Mulshi tehsil, district officials said.
"One person died while another sustained injuries after a landslide on a small eatery in Tahmini ghat in Mulshi tehsil," inspector Manoj Yadav of Paud police station told PTI.
Meanwhile, three people were feared trapped in a bungalow in the Lavasa area after a mudslide, police were quoted as saying by PTI.
Considering heavy rainfall in the 'ghat (mountain pass)' sections of Khed, Junnar, Ambegaon, Velha, Mulshi, Maval, Bhor, Haveli talukas and Pimpri Chinchwad as well as the Pune city area, a holiday has been declared for schools. Disaster management cells and teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed in low-lying areas.
On Wednesday evening, 29 tourists stranded due to flooding at resorts and bungalows in the Malavli area near Lonavala hill station in the district were evacuated, PTI reported.
