The accused in Mumbai hit-and-run case, Mihir Shah was arrested by Mumbai Police on Tuesday.
Accused in the Mumbai hit-and-run case, Mihir Shah has admitted that he was behind the wheel when the accident took place on Sunday in which a woman was killed. The accused, who was arrested on Tuesday, confessed during an interrogation by the police that he was driving the BMW car at the time of the accident.
Police are suspecting that the accused got his beard shaved after the incident to avoid being recognised. In the preliminary investigation, Shah has admitted to being in the driver's seat. Based on the timeline gathered so far, the police have questioned Shah and confirmed all the details. He said that he got scared after the incident and left the scene before his father, Rajesh Shah, arrived.
The police will also look into the reason why the accused came to Virar alone, away from his family. He will be produced in court on Wednesday where the police will seek custody for further probe.
On Wednesday, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Baladaheb Thackeray) leader Aadtiya Thackeray visited the residence of the victim, Kaveri Nakhwa and met with her husband, Pradeep Nakhwa.
