Blow To Sharad Pawar As Deolali MLA Pledges Alliance To Ajit Pawar Camp

Nationalist Congress Party MLA Saroj Ahire who earlier didn't specify the faction of NCP that she would join post the split has now finally extended her support to Ajit Pawar. Ahire represents the Deolali legislative assembly constituency. She was present at Nashik railway station to greet and welcome Pawar who is in the city for the ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ event to bring government schemes to citizens. Finance and Planning ministries were allocated to Pawar on Friday, reported news agency PTI. 

Ahire while talking to PTI said, “To remain in power is necessary for development. I am with Ajit Dada. He gave his cooperation for the development of my constituency in the past. I request him to continue the same in future.”

Earlier this month, Pawar rebelled against his uncle and the founder of NCP Sharad Pawar. Ajit Pawar joined hands with the Shiv Sena and BJP-led Maharashtra government to become part of the administration. He switched sides along with eight other NCP leaders who were also allocated key ministries on Friday.

Post the split, both NCP factions were trying to garner as much support as they could. MP Supriya Sule who stands with her father Sharad Pawar visited Ahire when she was admitted to a hospital in Nashik. Chhagan Bhujbal from the Ajit Pawar camp also visited her in the hospital, as reported by PTI.

Now, with the support of Ahire, all six NCP legislators in Nashik district namely - Chhagan Bhujbal, Nitin Pawar, Manikrao Kokate, Narhari Zirwal, Dilip Bankar and Saroj Ahire – now stand with Ajit Pawar and his faction of NCP, reported PTI.
