'Raped At Gunpoint': SIT Submits 1,691-Page Charge Sheet Against Prajwal Revanna In Second Sex Scandal Case

The charge sheet against Prajwal Revanna details serious allegations, including charges of rape and repeated sexual assault, providing a thorough account of the victim's ordeal.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sex video scandal involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna has submitted a comprehensive 1,691-page charge sheet to the Special Court for MLAs and MPs. This development comes after a detailed investigation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The case, registered under case number 20/2024 at the CID police station, was transferred to the SIT, which interviewed over 120 witnesses and recorded statements from both the victim and key witnesses, as reported by PTI.

The sexual abuse came to light reportedly after pendrives of the act allegedly involving Prajwal were circulated ahead of Lok Sabha polls in Hassan.

According to an official release from the CID, the charge sheet contains evidence and expert opinions gathered against Prajwal Revanna. The document details serious allegations, including charges of rape and repeated sexual assault, providing a thorough account of the victim's ordeal.

Key Details From Charge Sheet:

The charge sheet reveals that the victim was allegedly raped at gunpoint. It states that the accused recorded a video of the incident and used it to repeatedly blackmail and sexually assault the victim. The victim was reportedly too fearful to file a complaint initially due to threats from the accused.

In her complaint, the victim described how she approached Prajwal Revanna in 2021 to seek his help with public work, specifically to secure hostel seats for college students. During a meeting at his office in Hassan, she was allegedly assaulted.

The charge sheet recounts how Revanna isolated the victim by sending away others present, then closed the door behind them. He allegedly threatened the victim, warning her about the repercussions her husband might face, and coerced her into stripping under the pretense of aiding her husband's political career. When she resisted, he reportedly brandished a gun and threatened her life, subsequently raping her while recording the act.

The chargesheet, as per IANS, said: "Prajwal Revanna came from the ground floor, spoke to other women and sent them away. I was all alone and he called me into his room. When I went inside he held my hand and closed the door. I asked him why he was closing the door and he maintained that nothing would happen and made me sit on the bed. I refused to strip and he insisted. When I warned him that I would scream, he maintained that he had a gun and threatened he would finish me off and also my husband."

The document further described how Revanna continued to exploit and threaten the victim after the initial assault. He allegedly used the video to coerce her into stripping during video calls and warned that he would release the footage if she did not comply with his demands.
