Whiff Of Dissent In Jharkhand BJP As Babulal Marandi Meets Brass Ahead Of Champai Soren Induction
With Champai Soren joining the BJP, speculations are rife that things are not well in the saffron party.
Jharkhand News: Days after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that JMM leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren will join the Bharatiya Janata Party, speculations are rife that things are not well in the BJP. According to sources, Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi is not happy with Soren's induction in the party.
Marandi met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting came a day after Soren's meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Following his meet with the Prime Minister, the BJP Jharkhand Presdent took to social media platform X and said, Today I had a courtesy meeting with the respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji in New Delhi. The company and guidance of the respected Prime Minister always provides new energy and inspiration for public service."
आज नई दिल्ली में आदरणीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री @narendramodi जी से शिष्टाचार मुलाकात की।

According to ABP News sources, Babulal Marandi had suggested that Champai Soren should not join the saffron camp directly and he should form his party and join the BJP-led NDA to contest Jharkhand elections together.
This move could have had a direct impact on the tribal vote bank of the Hemant Soren-led JMM, but now that the former CM is joining the BJP, things are likely to be different. This has angered Marandi, who was the first CM of Jharkhand.
Champai Soren, who held the Chief Minister's post for just five months (February 2-July 4) taking over ahead of Hemant Soren's arrest and stepping down soon after his release, had on August 18 broken his silence on the "affront and insult" he was subjected to within the JMM, and narrated a few incidents which forced him to rethink his association with the party he served whole of his life.
He said he was left devastated when his decisions were overturned by some party workers and his programmes as CM were cancelled at the behest of some "overpowering" figure in the JMM. Assembly elections in Jharkhand are set to be held in Jharkhand later this year.
