In a decisive move against illegal gambling, the Haryana Chief Minister's Flying Squad carried out a large-scale raid on a suspected gambling hub in Gharaunda, Karnal. The operation, which took place following a tip-off, led to the arrest of 55 individuals involved in the illicit activity.

Huge Haul: Cash, Mobiles, and Vehicles Recovered

During the raid, the team seized ₹12 lakh in cash, along with 46 mobile phones and several vehicles allegedly used by the participants. The crackdown is part of the state’s broader effort to curb rising instances of illegal gambling, which have seen a resurgence in semi-urban pockets.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar confirmed the successful operation, stating, “Haryana CM Flying got the information that a man named Rinku is running a gambling racket for the last one month…We raided the location, and we caught 55 gamblers. We recovered Rs 12 lakh cash and several vehicles from the spot. The owner of the place said that this racket has been ongoing for one month…Further action will be taken in this matter…”

Ringleader Under Scanner

According to authorities, the gambling ring had been operational for at least a month under the alleged direction of an individual named Rinku. The property owner also reportedly admitted that the activities had been ongoing for several weeks. Investigators are now working to identify other possible accomplices and financial backers of the operation.

Tougher Measures Ahead

Officials have indicated that further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the racket’s network. With mounting pressure to eliminate unlawful gaming circles, more stringent measures and surveillance are expected across the region.

This latest action underscores Haryana’s renewed focus on law enforcement targeting organized crime rings, particularly those involving illegal betting and gambling operations.
