‘Arvind Kejriwal Can Go Into Coma, Have Brain Stroke’: Atishi Counters Tihar Authorities Over Delhi CM’s Health

Delhi Minister Atishi expressed concerns about CM Arvind Kejriwal's health in Tihar Jail, citing risks for diabetic patients like coma and stroke. She criticised the BJP for releasing documents claiming his health is stable.

Delhi Minister Atishi has raised serious concerns over the health of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to damage his health while he remains in Tihar Jail. Addressing a press conference, Atishi emphasised the dangers posed to Kejriwal, a long-time diabetic, citing risks of coma, brain stroke, and brain haemorrhage.

"BJP is trying to permanently damage the health of Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal has been a diabetic patient for 30 years. Any doctor can tell that in diabetes, either sugar levels go extremely high or extremely low. When sugar levels go up, patients can gradually have a serious illness. But if it drops drastically, then it can be fatal. Arvind Kejriwal can go into a coma, have a brain stroke, brain haemorrhage or can even die," stated Atishi.

She further criticised the BJP for releasing documents from Tihar Jail administration, which purportedly show Kejriwal's health as stable. "BJP should know that no matter how many lies they tell, truth always prevails. In the same documents that were released by BJP, there is a report by Tihar's medical officer stating that Arvind Kejriwal is diabetic, he is constantly losing weight and having bodyache and weakness," Atishi added.

Tihar Jail Authorities Refuted AAP's Claims On Delhi CM Kejriwal’s Health

Earlier, Tihar Jail authorities refuted AAP's claims stating that Kejriwal's health is being closely monitored by an AIIMS medical board. According to their report sent to the Delhi government's Home Department, Kejriwal has only lost 2 kg during his incarceration. The report highlights that Kejriwal's vitals are stable, and he is provided with regular medical care and home-cooked food, PTI reported.

The prison administration also claimed that the narrative pushed by AAP ministers was misleading the public. "The AAP's narrative with false information and ulterior motive is intended to browbeat the prison administration," stated the report, as quoted by PTI.
