Delhi-NCR Weather: Delhi To Get Relief From Cold, Minimum Temperature To Rise Around November 20

Changes in wind direction is expected to bring the stubble burning smoke from neighbouring states to Delhi, leading to a rise in minimum temperature, IMD predicted.

New Delhi: Changes in the direction of wind and pollution will provide some respite from the cold waves in Delhi for the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, the weather will get colder from the last week of November.    

As per the IMD forecast, the maximum temperature on Tuesday is estimated to be 26 degress Celcius and the minimum temperature will be 10 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperature to rise after November 20

The city is set to witness shallow fog and partly cloudy sky over the next few days. Visibility would remain low due to the foggy condition. According to the weather department, the minimum temperature on November 17 will be somewhere around 9 degrees Celcius and the maximum temperature will hover around 25 degrees Celcius.

However, changes in wind direction is expected to bring the stubble burning smoke from neighbouring states to Delhi, leading to a rise in minimum temperature, IMD predicted.

The minimum temperature will shoot up to around 12 to 13 degrees Celcius on November 20 and 21. The maximum temperature may also rise to 26 degrees. The maximum temperature in Noida is estimated to be around 27 degrees and the minimum temperature 18.7 degrees Celsius around that time. The maximum temperature in Gurugram is estimated to be 22 and the minimum temperature 11 degrees Celsius, IMD said.

Delhi's air quality 'very poor'

Delhi's air quality index (AQI) continues to remain at 'very poor' category. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the AQI of the national capital was recorded to be 396 on Tuesday.

At 310, Noida's air quality index also stands at the 'very poor' category. There is some relief for people in Gurugram, where the air quality index was recorded to be 284.

AQI is considered to be 'good' between zero and 50, 'satisfactory' between 51 and 100, 'moderate' between 101 and 200, 'poor' between 201 and 300, 'very poor' between 301 and 400 and 'severe' between 401 and 500.
