Two Men Plant Bomb Under Punjab Police Sub-Inspector Dilbag Singh's Car, Footage Surfaces
CCTV footage has also been recorded, showing two people on a motorcycle planting a bomb under sub-inspector Dilbag Singh's car.
New Delhi: A bomb was discovered under the car of a police sub-inspector in Punjab's Amritsar district on Tuesday. The explosive device was placed under the car of Punjab police sub-inspector Dilbag Singh when it was parked in Ranjit Avenue C block. Dilbag Singh has been active in the fight against terrorism in Punjab. CCTV footage has also been recorded, showing two people on a motorcycle planting a bomb under sub-inspector Dilbag Singh's car. A detonator was recovered from the spot.
"Info was received at PS Ranjit Avenue that someone had kept IED in the car of a Sub Inspector. Police recovered the IED and a forensic investigation of IED is being done. Further probe underway," Manish Chawla, IG Border Range was quoted as saying by ANI.

The shocking news comes just a day after Punjab Chief Minister Bahagwant Mann, while speaking at a state-level function at the Guru Nanak Stadium on the occasion of India's 75th Independence Day, called on the people of Punjab to make the State 'rangla' (vibrant) again by waging a war against social maladies like unemployment, corruption and communalism, hampering the prosperity of its people, news agency PTI reported.

Punjab CM Bahagwant Mann said the people of Punjab planted a sapling by bringing the Aam Aadmi Party to power in the State and the plant has started bearing fruits now. From now on, Punjab will script a new story of development and progress every day, he said.
