Bihar Cabinet Expansion Will Take Place Soon, Says Dy CM Choudhary

Speaking to reporters, Choudhary asserted that cabinet expansion will definitely happen.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said on Friday that the state cabinet allotment will be done soon, and Chie Minister Nitish Kumar will be taking the decision pertaining to it. Speaking to reporters, the BJP chief asserted that cabinet expansion will definitely happen. "It (cabinet portfolio allotment) will happen soon. CM (Nitish Kumar) will have to decide on this and it (cabinet portfolio allotment) will happen soon... Definitely, there will be an expansion (of Cabinet)," Choudhary said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

This comes days after Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar ditched the Mahagathbandhan and the opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A. and returned to the NDA and formed a new government in the state. On Sunday, Nitish Kumar, along with eight ministers—three each from the BJP and the JD-U, one from HAM, and one independent—took oath.

Two Deputy CMs from the BJP, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and six other ministers, including Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Santosh Kumar Suman, Shrawan Kumar, and others, also took the oath today.

On Monday, Choudhary said that the National Democratic Alliance will work to realise the unfulfilled dreams of the people under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Kumar. Addressing a press conference, the deputy chief minister said that the state will move further towards the path of development due to the 'double engine' government, as reported by news agency ANI.

"You all witnessed the political situation in Bihar over the past 48 hours. We received a proposal from JD(U) yesterday seeking BJP's support in government formation. We supported because the situation that arose in Bihar, it left the democracy ashamed and efforts were made to break the JD(U). The alliance of JD(U)-BJP-HAM and other parties will work in the paths of development of the state," Choudhary said, as quoted by ANI.
