Former Andhra Minister YSRCP's Jogi Ramesh In Trouble As ACB Takes Action In Land Scam Case

Jogi Ramesh faces allegations from his tenure as Housing Minister, where he is accused of exploiting his position to acquire Agrigold lands held by the Crime Investigation Department (CID).

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted raids at the residence of former YSRCP minister Jogi Ramesh in Ibrahimpatnam, located in the NTR district on Tuesday.

Around 15 ACB officials arrived at the former minister's house to carry out searches related to the Agrigold lands in Ambapuram. The investigation is part of ongoing efforts to scrutinize land dealings associated with the former minister.

Jogi Ramesh faces allegations from his tenure as Housing Minister, where he is accused of exploiting his position to acquire Agrigold lands held by the Crime Investigation Department (CID). It is claimed that Ramesh and his family unlawfully subdivided these seized lands into plots and sold them, earning crores in profits.

Taking to X, YSRCP said, "Former minister Jogi Ramesh's son Rajiv was illegally arrested while the coalition government was siding with BJP. ACB officials searched the house of Jogi Ramesh in Ibrahimpatnam from early morning. Jogi Ramesh, YSRCP leaders and activists are angry that Rajiv was arrested."

The YSRCP workers also took to protest in front of ACB office on Tuesday.

Jogi Ramesh, who served in the Youth Congress, joined YSRCP in 2013. Later, he served as the state spokesperson for the party and contested Assembly Elections 2014 from Mylavaram. However, he lost the polls to Telugu Desam Candidate Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao.

The YSRCP leader again contested the polls from Pedana and defeated TDP candidate Kagitha Krishna Prasad.

In 2022, the then CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inducted Jogi Ramesh into his cabinet. In 2024 elections, Ramesh contested from Penamaluru Assembly constituency but lost to Bode Prasad by a margin of 59,915 votes.
