7 Of Family On Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage Killed In Bus-Truck Collision On Ambala-Jammu-Delhi Highway
Seven family members were killed while 20 others were injured after a truck hit a minibus on its way to the Vaishno Devi shrine.
At least seven people were killed and over 20 people of the same family were injured after their minibus collided with a truck on the Ambala-Delhi-Jammu National Highway in Haryana's Ambala district early on Friday. The injured were quickly rushed to a hospital in Ambala Cantt.
According to a PTI report, the accident took place near Mohra village, close to Ambala Cantt. Police reached the area to carry out rescue work, and locals around the area helped the injured in the bus that was crushed due to the impact.

"Seven people died. Around 20-30 people of the same family were travelling in the tempo traveller to Mata Vaishno Devi. The injured are undergoing treatment," Dr Kaushal Kumar of the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt told ANI.
The bus was carrying around 30 people of a family from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh who were on their way to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir.
How The Accident Occurred
The surviving family members said that a truck was running ahead of their minibus and the truck suddenly applied brakes because of this the minibus crashed into the truck on the highway. They said that 3 of the family member died on the spot while 4 died in the hospital.
The truck driver is absconding, the police stated, but the truck has been captured. A case has been registered and further action is being taken.

This comes only six days after the bus fire in Nuh, Haryana in which at least nine people were killed after the bus they were travelling in caught fire on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. The accident took place when the bus was returning with devotees from Vrindavan, said Nuh MLA Aftab Ahmed, adding several people got injured including the elderly, women, and children.
The injured were taken to Nuh Medical College.
