Windies men, women team celebrate World T20 win with 'Champion Dance'

Kolkata: Both men and women team of West Indies after winning their respective World Twenty20 titles got into celebration and party mode with 'Champion Dance' that has been made famous by star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. On Sunday, Windies women's team defeated Australia by eight-wicket at the Eden Gardens here, which was followed by senior men's team stunning four-wicket win over England. This win made the year a memorable one for Windies as their Under-19 team in February defeated India to win the 50-over U-19 World Cup. The moment the West Indies' women reached the target to win the title, the entire dugout jumped in joy. What made the mood of the celebrations more special and thrilling was the men's team, led by captain Darren Sammy, bowling coach Curtly Ambrose and all-rounder Andre Russell who ran in and joined everyone to congratulate the girls for their memorable victory. But after the men's team won, thanks to Carlos Brathwaite's four successive sixes, the men's squad along with their support staff ran to the ground to join two unbeaten batsmen and then the celebration began with their trademark 'Champions Dance'. The women's team, who were present in the stadium, watching the men's match also joined to celebrate. "I know about finals, when I come to finals, I turn up for the team. All respect to the England players, we want to move from strength to strength - this is for the Caribbean. This is for Shane Warne," Man-of-the-match Marlon Samuels said after his match-winning unbeaten 85-run knock. "This is for all the fans in the Caribbean. I don't know when I'm going to be playing for West Indies again, I want to thank my team, thank my coaching staff. This is for the champions!" skipper Sammy said after win.
