In many ways, the match will be viewed as a contest between the master and the disciple. While Djokovic is aiming at a calendar grand slam, Alcaraz will be on a mission to disrupt his plans. For all his fitness, the fact remains that the Serb is 36-year-old and does not have as many years of competitive tennis ahead of him as is behind him. On the other hand, his Spanish opponent, if he remains injury free, has more years of tennis ahead of him than he has played so far at the competitive level. He is already the youngest player to reach the Wimbledon final since Rafael Nadal at 20 years and 72 days old.

It could be said though that Djokovic is the slight favourite heading into this game. At least the stats suggest so. His record is simply outstanding in the Wimbledon final with him having 7 while losing just one match in the titular contest. His only defeat in the final at the Grass-court Grand Slam came in 2013. Wimbledon match insights although suggests that Alcaraz has a better chance of coming out on top.

The final will be a high-stakes encounter as the Wimbledon trophy won't be the only prize up for the taking. The winner will also get to boast of a number 1 men's singles ATP ranking. The stage is set for one captivating and memorable Wimbledon men's singles final.
