WATCH: Shivam Dube Takes Perfect Revenge On Pollard By Hitting Hat-Trick Of Sixes

Shivam Dube's effort went in vain as West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons' 67 not out helped visitors win the second T20I by eight wickets to level the three-match series 1-1

New Delhi: Young all-rounder Shivam Dube’s maiden fifty helped team India post 170/7 against West Indies in the second T20I at the Greenfield Stadium on Sunday. Dube was promoted up at number three instead of Virat Kohli on Sunday and the all-rounder impressed everyone by scoring 54 runs off 30 balls. However, Dube's effort went in vain as West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons' 67 not out helped visitors win the second T20I by eight wickets to level the three-match series 1-1. The series decided will be played at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday. The Pollard-Dube Banter: Things got really spicy on-field when Windies skipper Pollard bowled his 2nd over. On the 2nd ball of the 9th over, it seemed that Pollard intentionally blocked Dube while he was trying to complete a second run. Dube looked livid after he safely reached the crease on the batting end. As Pollard bowled the next delivery, Dube swung his bat quite hard to smash the ball over the mid-wicket boundary for a huge six. Dube, then was on fire as he played a career changing innings by hitting Pollard for 26 runs in the 9th over ( 2, wd, 2, 6, wd, wd, 6, 6, 1). "It is really special for me because it is first 50 from my side to the Indian team. But not happy because winning the match is more important for me," Dube told reporters after the match. Talking about India's fielding, Dube said that the outcome of the match could have been different if the Indian players would have not dropped catches. "Yes, we dropped some catches but I think it is part of the match and even they dropped some catches. But I think we are the best team," he said. "I think we could not get some catches and if that were taken, it would have changed everything. We lost the match today but I think we will come back in the next match," he added.
