Washington Sundar's Father Staying In A Different House Since His Son's Return From IPL - Know Why
Washington Sundar's father has made a big sacrifice to save his son from the dreaded Coronavirus ahead of India's tour of England.
Indian cricket team's star all-rounder Washington Sundar enjoyed a great outing during India's tour of Australia. The star batter contributed with both bat and ball in the Test series against Australia. After seeing his good form, BCCI picked him in the Indian squad for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and Test series against England. On June 2, team India will fly to the UK after completing hard quarantine in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Washington Sundar's father has made a big sacrifice to save his son from the dreaded Coronavirus ahead of India's tour of England.
BCCI suspended IPL 2021 after several players and their family members started testing Covid-19 positive. Washington Sundar's father has shifted to another house to ensure his son's complete safety. In an interview, Washington's father M. Sundar explained why he took this step. He said that he steps out of the house for work and there's a risk of him bringing home the infection.
“Since Washington returned home from the IPL, I have been staying in another house. My wife and daughter are staying with Washington since they don’t step out of the house. I am only seeing him on video calls. I am having to go to office a few days in a week. I don’t want him to contract Covid because of me,” he told the New Indian Express.
BCCI has asked all the players touring England to be extra cautious to avoid getting infected from the Coronavirus. The Indian cricket team will undergo 14-days tough quarantine in Mumbai before flying to Southampton on June 2.
