'You Can Never Rule Out Player Of His Calibre': Dinesh Karthik On Virat Kohli's Poor Form
Virat Kohli has been rested from the West Indies tour as the selection committee has given him a break. According to several media reports, Kohli might return to the field during the Asia Cup.
New Delhi: Former India captain Virat Kohli has been struggling with poor form for a long time and because of this, he is facing a lot of criticism. Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, who made a sensational comeback to the Indian squad in recently-concluded India's tour of England, has backed Kohli. Karthik said Virat is an experienced and successful player and that such a legend cannot be dropped from the team.
Notably, Kohli's performance in the last several matches has not been good. He scored 17 and 16 runs in the ODI matches against England. Whereas in two T20 matches, he was dismissed after scoring 11 and 1 run. In the rescheduled Edgbaston Test, Virat returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs and 20 runs.
"Virat has experienced insane success over the period of time. Now he will get a good break and will come back all recharged and hopefully will do phenomenally well. You can never rule out a player of his calibre," Karthik told TOI.

Karthik has raised his stocks in the Indian squad ahead of the T20 World Cup.
"It is never easy, but I have worked hard for it. Also, given the bench strength that we have today, the competition is always going to be a part of it. This is the beauty of Indian cricket," added Karthik.
