Unmukt Chand Scores His First Official Fifty On US Soil After Leaving India - Watch Video

Unmukt Chand has shared the video of his brilliant innings on social media, in which he can be seen playing some solid strokes one after the other.

New Delhi: Former India U-19 captain Unmukt Chand, who retired from Indian cricket at the age of 28 to settle in the United States Of America (US), has officially scored his first half-century on the US soil, while batting brilliantly during a match in Minor League Cricket.

The talented young batsman has shared the video of his brilliant innings on social media, in which he can be seen playing some solid strokes one after the other.

In the minor league cricket tournament, Unmukt Chand has been roped in by the team of Silicon Valley Strikers. Unmukt, however, did not have a good start in the tournament as he had returned to the pavilion for a duck after playing just three balls.

In the video shared on social media, Unmukt can be seen batting in great rhythm and is hitting some powerful shots all around the field. He wrote in the caption of his video, 'First official fifty on US soil.' It was under Unmukt's captaincy, India won the Under-19 World Cup in the year 2012.

Recently, in an interview with Sportskeeda, Unmukt had told that it was mentally disturbing for him to sit out while players, who did not deserve a chance got games.

“Well yeah, the last couple of years have been a bit tough on me. Last season, I didn’t get a single game for Delhi. And then again, the same regime, I didn’t know whether I’ll get a game again or not. There were so many ‘if nots’, concerns with the domestic cricket in India right now. So, I didn’t want to go through the same process, it was mental torture for me to see myself sitting out and XYZ playing the games, who I wouldn’t even consider in my club teams," Chand told Sportskeeda.

“So, these things happen and the whole purity goes away. It just didn’t make sense and I just didn’t want to waste any more time thinking whether these guys will play or not. So, when these things start happening, you are just not into it then. Obviously, I have got a limited number of years and I got to play good cricket, and staying in limbo is a very, very bad place to be in,” he added.
