Team India Coach Ravi Shastri Shares Throwback Picture On His Test Debut Anniversary

Ravi Shastri on Sunday took to Twitter to share a picture on the anniversary of his Test debut for national team.

Indian cricket team has achieved quite a lot under the mentorship of former team India skipper Ravi Shastri. Recently, Ajinkya Rahane-led team India scripted history by defeating Australia for the second time in their home soil to clinch the Test series.

After this, Virat & Co. made a remarkable comeback after losing in the first Test against England and crushed the hosts in the Chennai Test to level the four-match series 1-1.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri on Sunday took to Twitter to share a picture on the anniversary of his Test debut for national team. On this day in 1981, the 58-year-old made his Test debut for team India.

"On this day 40 years ago...in Wellington I made my Test debut," Ravi Shastri wrote in the caption of photo he posted on Twitter.

Ravi Shastri was born on 27 May 1962 in Mumbai. He was selected as the head coach of the Indian team on 11 July 2017.

Prior to being team India head coach, Shastri was earlier appointed as the director of Men's national cricket team. The cricketer-turned-commentator was highly appreciated for his tenure as Director of cricket as well.

Ravi Shastri made his international debut for Indian cricket team in 1981 at home soil.  The flamboyant all-rounder has played 80 Tests and 150 ODIs in international cricket.
