Sourav Ganguly Placed Under Home Quarantine After Elder Brother Snehashish Tests Covid-19 Positive
Earlier in June, Snehashish Ganguly's wife had tested positive for COVID-19. As per media reports, his mother-in-law and father-in-law had also contracted the viral infection and been declared Covid-19 positive.
Hours after BCCI President Sourav Ganguly's brother Snehasish Ganguly tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, the former Indian skipper was forced to go into home quarantine as part of the standard procedure to safeguard him from the lethal virus.
A CAB source confirmed that Snehasish has been admitted to the Belle Vue Clinic in Kolkata after his Covid report returned positive. "His report came positive today. He's been admitted to the Belle Vue Hospital," the source told IANS.
"See, they live in the same house. As per protocol, he will have to be in home quarantine for a stipulated period," another source close to the Ganguly family said.

Snehasish was moved to their ancestral house, where Sourav is based, in Behala after his wife and in-laws at his Mominpur residence tested positive for the deadly virus.
Earlier in June, Snehashish Ganguly's wife had tested positive for COVID-19. As per media reports, his mother-in-law and father-in-law had also contracted the viral infection and been declared Covid-19 positive. Following this development, Snehasish had shifted to their ancestral house in Behala. The BCCI chief and his brother live in the same compound.
In a major push to strengthen quarantine facilities amid the COVID-19 crisis, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) granted Kolkata Police the green signal to set up a makeshift quarantine centre at the Eden Gardens. The state cricket board has offered the E, F, G, and H blocks for the same initially and some parts of the J Block as well if required.
