Asia Cup 2022, which is being played in T20 format this year, serves as a final preparing ground before the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Both Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will aim to start their Asia Cup campaign with a win as both the teams are entering the tournament after series defeats (Afghanistan lost to Ireland, and Sri Lanka lost to Australia). Talking about the head-to-head record, Afghanistan have won three out of their last five T20 Internationals.  Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have lost four out of their last five T20Is. 

Asia Cup 2022 is going to start in Dubai from Saturday. 13 T20 matches will be played in this tournament within 16 days. The teams in the first two groups will play two matches each and the team that is at the bottom will be eliminated. After this, the Super Four matches will start and the two best performing teams here will make it to the final. The first match will be played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Group B on Saturday.

Afghanistan is being captained by Mohammad Nabi. The team has the ability to beat some better ranked teams. Spinner Rashid Khan can prove to be Afghanistan's trump card. On the other hand,  Sri Lanka will enter the Asia Cup under the guidance of their new coach Chris Silverwood.
