The 20-time Grand Slam champion bid an emotional goodbye to the sport after losing Lavers Cup doubles match in London against the American pair of Frances Tiafoe and Jacques Sock 4-6, 7-6, 11-9. The 41-year-old veteran entered the doubles match with Rafael Nadal as his partner. The duo represented Team Europe against Team World in their Laver Cup match.

Roger Federer became very emotional after the end of his tennis career's final match. In a viral video, the legendary player was seen crying while greeting the audience. During this, even Nadal, who competed with him for almost two decades, could not stop his tears. A picture of Nadal and Federer weeping in the same frame after the match went viral too. Virat Kohli penned a heartwarming note on Twitter while sharing the emotional picture.

“Who thought rivals can feel like this towards each other. That’s the beauty of sport. This is the most beautiful sporting picture ever for me. When your companions cry for you, you know why you’ve been able to do with your god given talent. Nothing but respect for these 2,” Virat Kohli tweeted.

Roger Federer, regarded as an icon who made Tennis popular as a sport all over the world, won a total of 103 singles titles in his Tennis career and was at number one in the ATP rankings for several weeks. Apart from this, he has also won the Davis Cup title and Olympic medal.
