Asia Cup 2022 Final: Babar Azam Says Toss Crucial, Team Batting 2nd Will Have Advantage

In a video shared on Pakistan Cricket's Instagram, captain Babar Azam said he and the entire team is excited to play the finale against Sri Lanka.

Pak vs SL Asia Cup 2022 Final: The final of the Asia Cup 2022 between Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be played on Sunday. Sri Lanka, top-ranked in the Super Four points table, thrashed Pakistan by five wickets in their match on Friday to get a major positive boost ahead of the super clash. Sri Lanka is the host of this year's Asia Cup. Initially, it was planned that Sri Lanka would host the Asia Cup 2022 on their home soil but the multi-nation tournament was shifted to the United Arab Emirates due to security reasons.

Ahead of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2022 final match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam said he is happy with his team's performance in the tournament. In a video shared on Pakistan Cricket's Instagram, the captain said he and the entire team is excited to play the finale against Sri Lanka.

"We have played good matches, tough matches, there have been ups and downs as well. We have had good performances from different people," the star batter said ahead of Asia Cup final. 

"We are quite excited and lucky to have made it to the finals of the competition. As a captain I feel happy with the way that my team has responded and made it to the finals. In every matches, someone or the other has stepped up," he further added.

Talking about Pakistan's match against Afghanistan, Babar said he was expecting a good final match.

"The Afghanistan match was special, how close it was. I am expecting the final to be a good match," he said.

Babar feels winning the toss will be crucial as the team batting second has a big advantage.

"Toss is mattering in this Asia Cup and teams batting second have been winning. The team batting second will hold the edge," Babar concluded.
