T20 World Cup 2024: Virat Kohli announced his retirement from the T20 format, but before making the official announcement, he called his wife, Anushka Sharma.
T20 World Cup 2024: The Indian cricket team lifted the ICC T20 World Cup trophy after 17 years, and it was an emotional day for the men in blue. On Saturday, India beat South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Indian cricketer Virat Kohli got emotional as he congratulated his teammates after the win.

Kohli later announced his retirement from the format, but before making the official announcement, he called his wife, Anushka Sharma, who was not in Barbados to watch the match. The former India captain was seen with goofy faces and giving flying kisses during his video call with Anushka and the kids, Vamika and Akaay.

Anushka Sharma also took to Instagram to shower praise on her husband, who was also awarded the Man of the Match trophy. She also shared an anecdote about their daughter Vamika and wrote, “Our daughter’s biggest concern was if all the players had someone to hug them after she saw them cry on tv….. Yes, My darling, they were hugged by 1.5 billion people ❤️ What a phenomenal victory and what a legendary achievement!! CHAMPIONS – CONGRATULATIONS!!.”
