India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal in the men’s javelin throw final at the Paris Olympics 2024 on August 8 (Thursday), adding to both his and the country's medal count. Despite aiming for a repeat gold, he faced stiff competition from Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who took first place with a record-breaking performance.

Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra secured India's fifth medal and the only silver at the ongoing Paris 2024 Games. He achieved the silver with a throw of 89.45 metres, finishing just behind Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, who set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 metres.
