India vs Pakistan Rivalry In Men's Javelin Throw At Paris 2024 Olympics: India's Neeraj Chopra and Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, two friends off the field but two fierce competitors on it.

India vs Pakistan Rivalry In Men's Javelin Throw At Paris 2024 Olympics: India vs Pakistan is one of the most celebrated rivalry in the sporting world. While the competition was largely restricted to cricket and hockey, in the realm of Olympic sports, it has found a new chapter in the men's javelin throw. While India's Neeraj Chopra, the reigning world champion, will enter the competition as the defending Men's Javelin Throw Olympic champion, Pakistan's Ashad Nadeem, who finished fifth on August 7 in Tokyo, is a much improved and more confident athlete and has a Commonwealth Games Gold to his name.

Off the field, Neeraj and Arshad are friends. They have gone on record accpeting their mutual respect for each other and watching their comraderie over the recent years has been one of the biggest positive stories from the realm of sports. But on it, their rivalry could reach its zenith in Paris. While no doubt, Neeraj has been the more consistent of the two javelin throwers, with his throws constantly around and over the 85-metre mark, the fact also remains that the hallowed 90-metre mark has eluded him over the course of his career.

While Chopra may have failed to reach the 90-metre mark, Nadeem boasts of having done it. But he could not beat Chopra who had pulled out of that competition owing to an injury. Both Chopra and Nadeem are coming off injury concerns heading into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Arshad has participated in just one competiton in 2024 with a best throw of 84.21 metre, finishing fourth in Paris Diamond League on Sunday (July 7). Chopra, however, had opted to skip this league to gear up for the Paris Games. His season-best throw was clocked at 88.36 metre in Doha Diamond League 2024.
