Novak Djokovic Makes SHOCKING Claims, Says He Was ‘Poisoned’ In Melbourne Before Australian Open

Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic has made startling claims, alleging that he was "poisoned" while in quarantine in Australia during January 2022, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Djokovic, with 24-time Grand Slam to his name, now aims to chase a historic 25th Grand Slam title in the 2025 Australian Open.

Novak Djokovic, the Serbian tennis icon, has made shocking revelations, claiming that he was "poisoned" during his quarantine in Australia in January 2022, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Djokovic was detained after his visa was revoked ahead of the 2022 Australian Open amidst controversy over Australia's COVID-19 entry rules and his unvaccinated status, resulting in his stay at a Melbourne hotel which was also housing asylum-seekers.

Djokovic, with 24-time Grand Slam to his name, now aims to chase a historic 25th Grand Slam title in the 2025 Australian Open.

'I Was Fed Food That Poisoned Me': Djokovic

In a conversation with GQ, Djokovic claimed that he was given poisoned food during his quarantine. He shared that he began feeling ill after returning from Melbourne, later finding elevated levels of lead and mercury in his system. 

“I had some health issues. And I realized that in that hotel in Melbourne I was fed with some food that poisoned me. Well, I had some discoveries when I came back to Serbia. I never told this to anybody publicly, but discoveries that I was, I had a really high level of heavy metal. Heavy metal. I had the lead, very high level of lead and mercury.”

“It was like the flu, just a simple flu. But when it was days after that a simple flu took me down so much,” he says, he had an emergency medical team treat him at home. “I had that several times and then I had to do toxicology [tests],” Djokovic stated further.

Novak Djokovic claimed that his deportation from Australia was politically motivated, not related to his vaccination status or COVID. He argued that he was seen by the public as a "hero" for anti-vax sentiments and that the decision to deport him was influenced by politics rather than health concerns.

“That’s the actual reason why I was deported from Australia. That’s what the three federal judges said in the end. Their sentence is that they are not in a position to question the discretionary right of the [immigration] minister. It was so political. It had nothing really to do with vaccine or COVID or anything else. It’s just political. The politicians could not stand me being there. For them, I think, it was less damage to deport me than to keep me there.”

“With my situation in Australia, I was proclaimed to be a villain number one of the world. And still even today, 99 percent of the people don’t know why I have been deported from Australia. On what basis. People think that I’ve been deported from Australia because I haven’t taken the vaccine. That I was unvaccinated and I tried to kind of force my way into Australia, which is completely untrue,” the tennis legend said.
