New Delhi: On Monday, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar sent out a special message to the nation in honor of National Sports Day. Tendulkar encouraged the nation to grab any sport and engage in regular participation. "Let's become a healthier and fitter nation," he said.
He addressed the nation through his Twitter handle and also mentioned the story of Rupa, Lovely, Nayanmoni & Pinki and called it a story of hope and also gave them the tag of being a pack of four superwomen. He also praised the lawn bowls stars for bringing India its first gold medal in lawn bowls at the Commonwealth Games 2022 and introducing the country to a new sport in which we can excel.
"Rupa Rani Tirkey was once a kabaddi player, Nayanmoni Saikia a weightlifter, Pinki Singh a cricketer, and Lovely Choubey was a sprinter. Despite their humble beginnings, they came together for a sport not known to many. And now, with such historic gold to their names, they have stood tall for old age, and "age is just a number," Sachin stated in his tweet.

He also mentioned that there are countless examples where people have matched up against the odds and made India proud in the field of sports. He also talked about the benefits of sports, how they inspire and provide hope to people and uplift the personality of an individual.
Lastly, Sachin said: We are a nation of 1.3 billion people, and no one can stop us as a youthful and vibrant nation. All of us can seek glory in any respective sport, and wish the nation a very happy National Sports Day and make India a "sports-playing nation" and a "sports-loving nation".
