National Games See Innovative Revolution As 'Mauli Robot' Brings Medals For Winners

National Games Uttarakhand 2025 witness a historic revolution, as the mega event's medal ceremony was subject to a robot bringing out the medals for winners on Saturday. Several young athletes participated in different events, and upon winning their event, they received a medal from 'Mauli Robot', who has a remote controller's mind.
The innovative robot carried the tray of medals, and assisted the volunteers accordingly during the medal ceremony. This move has taken the athletes and fans by surprise, as India embarks a new revolution in sports industry at the National level competitions.
The innovation was merely restricted to 'Athletics', as other sports featured young woman carrying the tray of medals during the medal ceremony. The reason behind choosing Athletics as the initial sport is speculated to the fact that the sport had featured 40 events, and also, Sports Director Prashant Arya had earlier mentioned that 'Mauli Robot' will be used for most of these events during medal distribution ceremony.
Who Developed 'Mauli Robot'?
'Mauli Robot' is the creation of Uttarakhand Police's drone team, who collaborated with a private firm, D-Town Robotics. People who are responsible behind this creative innovation are Vipin Kumar, Deepankar Bisht, Prashant Chandra, Deepak Bisht, Abhishek Kumar, and Prajwal Rawat.
It took them around one and a half months to reach the completion stage of this project. 'Mauli Robot' was not the only robot used, as there was another robot who assited in the medal ceremony of 'Discus Throw' event.
The innovative move caught Olympian Manish Rawat by surprised, as he stated that 'it was the first time he had seen a robot being used in a medal ceremony'.
"The Chief Minister had instructed that technological innovations should be a part of the National Games. That’s why we introduced this experiment with robotic technology. In athletics events like hammer throw, javelin throw, and discus throw, we are also using robotic technology to reduce human dependency," said Amit Sinha, CEO, National Games.
"Apart from the athletes' outstanding performances, the 38th National Games is showcasing many innovative initiatives to the entire nation. Technological advancements are now becoming a part of the National Games. Our goal is to leverage new technology to develop sports," said Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister, Uttarakhand.
