Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Former India cricketers Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble exercised their right and cast their votes for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Former Indian captain and current Indian team head coach Rahul Dravid and former India player and head coach Anil Kumble cast their votes in Bengaluru for the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024 that are taking place across India in phases. A video doing rounds on social media shows Rahul Dravid standing in a queue along with other voters at a polling booth. A video of former India cricketer Javagal Srinath at a polling booth in Mysuru has also surfaced on social media.

Second phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is underway, happening across 13 states and a Union Territory, as there are 88 seats up for grabs in the country. Today, Karnataka is casting votes for 14 seats. With a total of 28 seats in the 543-member Parliament, the state is conducting polling in two phases and is set to vote for the remaining 14 seats on May 7.

Along with the video of Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble’s photo after he cast his vote along with his wife, Chethana Ramatheertha, surfaced on social media. The 14 Karnataka seats that are holding elections today are Udupi Chikamagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, Bangalore South, Chikballapur and Kolar.

Sunil Gavaskar's Appeal To Indian Citizens For Lok Sabha Elections 2024

Earlier, while commentating during the Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), former Indian batter Sunil Gavaskar made an appeal to all the Indian citizens to exercise their right and cast votes in the 2024 Elections. "The largest festival of democracy is amongst us. The Indian General Elections 2024, with over 97 crore registered voters and 10.5 lakh polling stations, India readies for the biggest democratic exercise in the world. Let your voice be heard. Exercise your right and cast your vote," Gavaskar said on comms during the SRH vs RCB IPL 2024 match on April 25 (Thursday).
