Kylian Mbappe's Post For Morocco's Achraf Hakimi After FIFA World Cup Semifinal Is Winning Hearts

Notably, both Mbappe and Hakimi play for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Ligue 1 but were on opposite camps in the second FIFA World Cup 2022 semifinal.

Before the start of FIFA World Cup 2022 had a neutral fan been asked to pick one team between France and Morocco, the Les Blues would have gotten overwhelming response in its favour sheerly based on the star power and their experience at World event. However, the way the tournament progressed, meant that nobody ruled out Morocco even against France who were counted as among the favourites before the first match kicked off. The reason was their performances against European heavyweights.

As it turned out though, the French side were the better team on the day and defeated Morocco 2-0. This meant that while Kylian Mbappe had a reason to celebrate, his close friend Morocco's Achraf Hakimi was on the losing side. Mbappe was seen exchanging an embrace with his opponent after the match, an image which went viral.

However, not much after the final whistle, Mbappe even shared a message with Hakimi which has taken social media by storm. While sharing a picture of him hugging his Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) teammate, Mbappe wrote: "Don’t be sad bro, everybody is proud of what you did, you made history. ❤️ @AchrafHakimi."

France to lock horns with Argentina in the finals

While France beat Morocco to reach the finals, Argentina had already confirmed a place for themselves in the summit clash by beating Croatia in the first semifinal. This has set a blockbuster of a clash between a South American and a European nation for the bragging rights of the most significant trophy in International football.

It will be a historic feat if France manage to make it back to back titles but it will be equally significant if Argentina manage to add to their World Cup tally. The sight of Messi holding the trophy could break the internet, if the latter happens.

What promises to be a humdinger of a fixture will kick off at 08:30 pm (IST) on Sunday (December 18).
