Keaton Jennings's father missed his son's 100 moment due to power cut

Keaton Jennings's father missed his son's 100 moment due to power cut New Delhi: Imagine the moment of pride a father experiences when his son scores a century on debut. But what if the electricity supply ditches when his son is just about to reach the landmark and it doesn’t come back for close to an hour? That’s exactly what happened with Keaton Jennings’s father Ray Jennings.  Keaton was on 96, on his way to his maiden Test century, when the holiday resort in Mauritius, where his parents were staying had a power cut. They had no clue whether their son had reached the landmark until an hour. "It came back on when he was on 111 and then he scored one more run and he was out," Ray Jennings was quoted by ESPNcricnfo. The former South African wicket keeper had to be content by watching some highlights of his son’s dream come true moment. "My family have sent me some videos of the shot that got him to the hundred," said Jennings. Keaton Jennings played a fantastic knock of 112 to take England to respectable first innings total of 400 against India in a turning track at Mumbai. He infact played a reverse sweep to reach his hundred. Interestingly, Keaton was supposed to join his family in Mauritius if he had not been picked to open the batting for England in the fourth Test. Keaton, was captaining the England lions team in UAE when he got a call to join the England team as a replacement for the injured Haseeb Hameed.
