'It’s Such A Shame': James Anderson Shares Emotional Post After Manchester Test Called-Off

AN emotional James Anderson in his post said that it is a matter of great shame that the summer of international cricket ended this way.

New Delhi: An emotional James Anderson took to Instagram on Sunday to express his disappointment after India vs England Manchester Test was cancelled. Many former England players have also criticized the Indian team for this and are also blaming the Indian Premier League (IPL) behind the cancellation of Old Trafford Test.

Some media reports had claimed that Manchester Test getting cancelled was the reason behind some England withdrawing their names from IPL 2021. Now veteran England speedster James Anderson has expressed his disappointment by writing an emotional post on Instagram. Anderson in his post said that it is a matter of great shame that the summer of international cricket ended this way.

In a post on Instagram, Anderson wrote: "It’s such a shame the summer of international cricket ended this way.

"I’m gutted for everyone at @lancashirecricket, for the fans who paid for tickets/trains/hotels, for both sets of supporters that wanted to see the finish this series deserved.

"I hope it will be played again at some point and I hope I will get to play another international game at my home ground that I love so much."

James Anderson was brilliant with the ball as he bagged 15 wickets in 4 Tests. Suddenly, there was a stir in Team India's camp after their junior physio Yogesh Parmar tested Coronavirus positive.  After this, team India refused to take the field on Day 1 of the Manchester Test due to fear of Coronavirus. After which BCCI and ECB jointly decided to call-off the fifth and final Test. According to both the boards, the cancelled Manchester Test match will be rescheduled.
