UP Warriorz Team: Complete UP Squad After WPL 2023 Auction

UP Warriorz Team: The Lucknow-based franchise picked 16 players at the WPL 2023 Auction.

After an intense bidding war at the Jio Convention Centre a total of 87 players were sold and a whopping ₹59,50,00,000 spent. Smriti Mandhana emerged as the most expensive purchase at the inaugural auction. She also became the first-ever player to be sold at a WPL Auction.

Talking about the UP Warriorz, the team picked 16 players at the inaugural auction. India all-rounder Deepti Sharma was the most expensive purchase by the team at INR 2.6 Crore while Sophie Ecclestone was the costliest overseas buy for the team INR 1.8 Crore.

Notably, the inaugural Women's Premier League will be a 22-match affair and will be played across the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Such an arrangement has been made because players will already be coming after an intense T20 World Cup and this setup means they won't have to travel which will allow the Board to fit in the league in a cramped schedule.
