Rohit Sharma Standing Ovation: Mumbai Indians (MI) succumbed to a defeat against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in what was their final IPL 2024 fixture. While they were the first team to get eliminated from the IPL 2024 Playoffs race after their defeat, they position right at the bottom of the table with four wins from 14 matches was confirmed.

The match could also be the last time MI's legendary leader Rohit Sharma donned the franchise colours. With the team deciding to replace him as the captain ahead of IPL 2024 and a mega auction in IPL 2025, there are chances that the experienced campaigner may not be retained, leading to him going back at the auction table.
In what was perhaps his final outing for MI, the Indian captain scored a sublime innings worth 68 off 38. His innings was studded with 10 boundaries and 3 sixes and when he finally got out, the Wankhede crowd gave their five-time IPL winning captain a standing ovation perhaps realising that this could be the final time they would get to see him as part of the home team.
