Ahmedabad Weather Forecast For RCB vs PBKS Final: Know The Rules If Rain Stops Play

Unpredictable weather in Ahmedabad has raised concerns, especially after rain delayed the Qualifier-2.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Final between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) is set to take place on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With both teams eyeing their first-ever IPL title, excitement is at an all-time high. However, unpredictable weather in Ahmedabad has raised concerns, especially after rain delayed the Qualifier-2.

Ahmedabad latest weather forecast

The match starts at 7:30 PM, with the toss scheduled for 7:00 PM. Rain might briefly threaten the start of the game.

Hourly Rain Forecast for Ahmedabad:

6:00 PM - 51% chance of rain | 7:00 PM - 5% chance | 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM - Just 2% chance throughout

There's a fair chance of rain an hour before the toss, but the forecast clears up as the evening progresses. Conditions look favorable for a full game, with only minimal chances of interruption after 7 PM. With a reserve day in place and two extra hours allotted, the final is expected to go ahead as planned unless heavy showers persist early on.

Will Rain Spoil the Final?

Rain remains a looming threat over the final. To address such situations, BCCI has put clear protocols in place to ensure the match has a fair chance of completion and a winner is declared.

Reserve Day Confirmed for Final

Unlike some past seasons, the IPL 2025 Final has a Reserve Day. If the match cannot be completed on June 3, it will resume on June 4 at the same venue and time. Also, up to 120 minutes of extra time has been allocated on both days to help complete the match.

DLS Rule in Effect

If the game is interrupted, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method will be applied - but only if both teams have played a minimum of 5 overs. If that minimum isn't met, the DLS rule cannot determine a result.

What If the match is abandoned on both days?

If rain prevents even a 5-over contest on both June 3 and June 4, the team that finished higher in the league stage will be declared the winner. That means Punjab Kings, who topped the points table, will be crowned champions over RCB.

Yes. If conditions allow but a full match or 5-over innings aren't possible, the match officials may opt for a Super Over to decide the winner - as long as time permits.
