Mathisha Pathirana's Sister Shares Heartwarming Pics From Her Meet-Up With CSK Legend MS Dhoni

Mathisha Pathirana was mostly included in the team as an 'Impact Player' for bowling in the death overs and he lived up to his skippers' expectations, providing breakthroughs at regular intervals.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni met his teammate Mathisha Pathirana's family ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final on Sunday (May 28). Sri Lanka's Pathirana is often compared to Lasith Malinga because of their similar unorthodox slinging-arm bowling action. The 20-year-old has played only a single match for Sri Lanka in international cricket, making his debut against Afghanistan in UAE, last year. Pathirana was used very wisely by MS Dhoni in IPL 2023. He was mostly included in the team as an 'Impact Player' for bowling in the death overs and he lived up to his skippers' expectations, providing breakthroughs at regular intervals.

Pathirana has so far taken 17 wickets in 11 IPL matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at an impressive economy of 7.72. Meanwhile, Pathirana's family met CSK legend MS Dhoni in Chennai after their win over Gujarat Titans in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 Qualifier 1. Pathirana's sister took to Instagram to post heartwarming pictures of their meet with Dhoni, which went viral on the internet.

The young pacer's sister posted three pictures from their meet-up and captioned the post, "Now we are sure that malli is in safe hands when thala said "You have nothing to worry about Matheesha,he's always with me". These moments were even beyond what I had ever dreamt of. #dhoni #dhoni #dhonifan."
