IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant & Shardul Fined Match Fees, Amre Gets One-Match Ban For Code Of Conduct Breach
According to an official release by IPL, the Delhi Capitals Skipper admitted to the Level 2 breach under Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
New Delhi: Captain of the Delhi Capitals, Rishab Pant was fined 100 per cent of his match fee after he was found guilty of breaching the Indian Premier League's (IPL) Code of Conduct. The incident of breach happened during Fridays match against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, reported news agency ANI.
According to an official release by IPL, the Delhi Capitals Skipper admitted to the Level 2 breach under Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct after which he was fined.
Pant was not alone to be found guilty of violating IPL Code of Conduct, but his teammate Shardul Thakur was also fined for breaching the code of conduct during their match against RR.
Thakur too admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction slapped on him.
Other than Skipper Pant and Shardul, Delhi Capital's assistant coach Pravin Amre was also fined 100 per cent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct during the Wankhede match against Rajasthan Royals. A one-match ban has also been awarded to Amre for the violation.
Amre was found guilty of Level 2 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
During the match Friday, Delhi Capitals needed 36 runs to win chasing 223. On the third delivery of the over, Rovman Powell dispatched a full toss ball from Rajasthan Royals pacer Obed McCoy for a six. But Delhi Capitals players including Pant assumed that the delivery was a no-ball and started gesturing to the on-field umpire.
Soon after the incident, Pant was seen waving to batsmen Powell and Kuldeep Yadav to come off the field. Amre also stepped on to the field to talk to umpire Nitin Menon.
