IPL 2021 To Resume With MI Vs CSK Clash On 19 September: Report
Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai would be the three venues to host the rest of the 31 IPL matches. The finals will be hosted by Dubai on 15th October.
New Delhi: The remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on 19 September with a decorated re-opening match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The IPL 2021 season was cancelled mid-way due to the rising cases of Covid-19 inside the bio-bubble. The news was reported by the Indian Express. The IPL 2021 had to be shifted to the United Arab Emirates and will be conducted between 19 September to 15 October.
Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai would be the three venues to host the rest of the 31 IPL matches. Sharjah will be hosting the eliminator and second qualifier on 11 and 13 October while, the finals and first qualifier will be hosted by Dubai on 10th and 15th October.

It will be an exciting occasion for MS Dhoni fans to see him in action again.
It was also reported that along with Indian and England cricketers, West Indies players also would be taking part in the IPL. "The Indian team and the English players who will be available will fly in the same charter flight from Manchester to Dubai. Similarly, the West Indies players will also fly in after completing the Caribbean Premier League engagements. There will be three-day quarantine for players arriving from the UK and the Caribbean," a source was quoted by PTI.
There are 31 remaining matches in the IPL 2021. It will be the first time that the IPL will be held in UAE for two consecutive years.
