GT vs LSG, IPL 2023 Highlights: Shubman Gill, Wriddhiman Saha Shine As GT Thumps LSG By 56 Runs

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill started well and soon reached their respective half-centuries and powered their team to 227/2. Saha scored 81 runs in just 43 balls while Gill made 94 runs.

Fans witnessed a thrilling IPL 2023 encounter between the two brothers, where Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans outplayed Lucknow Super Giants led by Krunal Pandya by 56 runs on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. However, the highlight of the match was Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill’s innings as both punished Lucknow’s bowlers all around the park.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants’ skipper Krunal Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first in Ahmedabad. Veteran wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha alongside Shubman Gill started well and soon reached their respective half-centuries and powered their team to 227/2. Saha scored 81 runs in just 43 balls while Gill made 94 runs off 51 deliveries.  Apart from the openers, David Miller made 21 off 12 balls, and Hardik Pandya gathered 25 off 15 balls, playing vital knocks and contributing to the team’s total.

For LSG, Mohsin Khan and Avesh Khan were the bowlers who got a wicket each against Gujarat.

While chasing a total of 228 runs, opener batters Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock started well and played according to the required run rate but then Mayers departed after scoring 48 runs in just 32 balls while de Kock continued his power hitting and ended up scoring 79 runs off 41 balls but could not sail his team’s boat to victory as Lucknow were stopped at 171/7 in 20 overs.  It was Mohit Sharma who was the star with the ball for Gujarat Titans as he scalped four wickets. As far as the points table is concerned, Gujarat are still at the top spot while Lucknow are currently sitting at the third spot after this game.
