CSK Vs MI: Chennai Super Kings kick-off their IPL 2025 campaign with a comfortable 4-wicket win over fierce-rivals Mumbai Indians, as the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side did not disappoint the home crowd present at the 'Chepauk' on Sunday'.
CSK now join RCB and SRH as the sides who managed to win their opening game, thanks to an unbeaten fifty from New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra, that helped the side tackle MI's spin attack to avoid a home upset.
Electing to bowl first, the home side were off to a flying start, as Khaleel Ahmed dismissed the 'highly-dangerous' Rohit Sharma for a duck, after bowling 3 consecutive dot balls to him.

The short cameos from Ryan Rickelton and and Will Jacks did not last long, as Chennai Super Kings' bowlers ran through the top-order of Mumbai Indians.
A solid partnership from Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak did give the side a foundation to capitalise upon, but the lower order of MI succumbed under pressure, as they managed merely 155 runs in their 20 overs.
Noor Ahmed Awarded Player Of The Match
Noor Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for CSK, as his 4 wickets helped CSK register a gettable target for their batters. In reply, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a blistering fifty, alongside Rachin Ravindra, who's unbeaten 65 sealed the game with 5 balls to spare.
"Well it feels great to play in different league around the world. It feels special to play here in the IPL. I am happy for the opportunity today and happy to contribute for my team. Well sometimes I did understand that the batters were not picking me from the hand. I was trying to focus on my line and length today," said Noor Ahmad.
"(Which one was his favouriite wicket) I think the stumping by Mahi bhai was out of the world. That was my favourite wicket today. It was electric stuff from Mahi bhai. Yeah exactly, it feels great to have someone like Mahi bhai behind the stumps. It's a big support for me," he added.
