Big Setback For RR: Ben Stokes Ruled Out Of Entire IPL Due To Injury

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder has been ruled out of IPL 2021 following an injury against Punjab Kings.

IPL 2021, Live News: Ben Stokes, the English all-rounder playing for the Rajasthan Royals has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury he inflicted during Rajasthan’s opening match against Punjab Kings. Stokes has broken his index finger on the left hand while taking a difficult catch to dismiss Chris Gayle of Riyan Parag’s bowling on Monday.

This news is a huge setback for the Rajasthan Royals’ team as Stokes had spent a lot of time in India and was getting used to the conditions here. Stokes is a big asset in any team due to his all-round ability as a cricketer. RR would be dreading after this loss as Jofra Archer, the England pacer has already been struggling with an injury and was not present with the team. Although Archer has resumed training, it is unsure as of when he will be joining the RR in the bio-bubble.

David Miller and Liam Livingstone are the two foreign batsmen who are warming the benches of Rajasthan Royals. It will be interesting to see who gets a chance to be in the RR team post the departure of Ben Stokes. Although he is injured, he won’t leave the team and would keep supporting his team.

This was informed by Rajasthan Royals in a Twitter post. They wrote: “Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the IPL following a broken finger in last night's game.

He will stay with the Royals and support the rest of the group in the upcoming matches.”

Take a look at this tweet:

The Royals lost their opening match against Punjab. Now they face Delhi Capitals on Thursday, April 15, 2021.
