New Delhi: Top knocks from Dinesh Karthik (23-ball 44) and Shahbaz Ahmed (26-ball 45) powered Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a thrilling four-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the T20 match played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. As Bangalore attained their 2nd win in IPL 2022 tonight, Rajasthan was handed their first defeat of the season by Faf du Plessis-led franchise.

RCB was given a respectable target of 170 to win. They had a good start to their innings as they scored 48 runs in the Powerplay but RR bowlers bounced back by taking quick wickets to leave RCB reeling at 87/5. The sixth wicket much-needed partnership between Karthik and Ahmed (67 runs inside five overs) ensured the win for Bangalore. For Rajasthan, ex-RCB bowler Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of bowlers as he gave away just 15 runs in his four overs spell, and ended up taking two wickets.

Earlier, in the first innings, Jos Buttler made the most of two lives (dropped chances) given to him by RCB fielders as he went on to unleash his beast mode to score 70 runs off 47 balls.
