'Many Sporting Giants Have Gone Through This...': Rohit Sharma Tweets On MI's Dismal Run In IPL 2022

The journey of the two most successful teams in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Mumbai Indians, and Chennai Super Kings have been disappointing.

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians, five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 winners, have been ruled out of the IPL 2022 playoffs race after losing eight IPL games in a row this season. Captain Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to post an emotional tweet for Mumbai fans. The franchise has been virtually knocked out of the race for the IPL 2022 playoffs after a 36-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday.

"We haven’t put our best foot forward in this tournament but that happens,many sporting giants have gone through this phase but I love this team and it’s environment. Also want to appreciate our well wishers who’ve shown faith and undying loyalty to this team so far," MI skipper Rohit Sharma tweeted.

In the mega auction of IPL, Mumbai Indians did not retain Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, who were instrumental in the team's success over the years. Apart from captain Rohit, Mumbai Indians retained Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kieron Pollard but they did not perform as expected.
