IPL Sees Exodus Of Aussie Players Leaving Over Corona Wave

According to sources, more Australians, including some of the support staff members are contemplating leaving their respective teams after Australia heavily restricted cut down on travel from India and imposed heavily paid quarantine before being allowed back home.

IPL players may be safe from Corona inside the bio-bubble but they certainly dont feel mentally secure enough. IPL is beginning to see an exodus of players leaving the bio-bubble for fear of seeing the devastation around in India and the fear of being locked away from their families following heavy restrictions on travel from India.

3 Australians --- Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson have ditched Virat Kohli's camp while Andrew Tye left for Perth saying goodbye to Rajasthan Royals to be back with their respective families.

English player Liam Livingstone left RR cmap two days back but the biggest name will always be R Ashwin who left the IPL after yesterday's match to be with his family in midst of fighting the Corona battle.

According to sources, more Australians, including some of the support staff members are contemplating leaving their respective teams after Australia heavily restricted cut down on travel from India and imposed heavily paid quarantine before being allowed back home.

There are some exceptions as well, with MS Dhoni preferring to continue and lead CSK even as his parents are admitted in hospital with Covid. IPL has been facing a lot of flak on social media for continuing with games even when there are heavy casualties in Mumbai. Delhi is set to host games from tomorrow even as the city and its citizens are gasping for breath.

IPL has also seen its share of Covid  positive cases this year with players like Axar Patel, DevDutt Padikkal, Daniel Sams and Nitish Rana were found positive while support staff members like Kiran More, ground staff and events organisers too were down with Covid.

IPL dealt with Covid last year too when it was held outside India but timing and location of games have been under scrutiny this time. A leading media organisation have already decided to boycott the IPl coverage accusing it of being insensitive.
