IPL 2021: Sanju Samson Decides To Keep The Coin As Souvenir After Winning Toss On Captaincy Debut
PBKS vs RR, IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals' Sanju Samson, who was playing his first match as a skipper in IPL had a comical start to his captaincy debut.
In a very exciting match played on Monday evening in IPL 2021, Punjab Kings defeated Rajasthan Royals by just 4 runs. RR skipper Sanju Samson played a brilliant innings to keep his team alive in the competition till the very last ball.
However, his efforts went in vain in the end and Rajasthan missed the target by a slight margin of 4 runs. Samson played a tremendous innings of 119 runs in 63 balls with the help of 12 fours and 7 sixes. He also added 53 runs for the fifth wicket with Riyan Parag.

Meanwhile, Samson, who was playing his first match as a skipper in IPL had a comical start to his captaincy debut. After the match referee tossed the coin and Samson won the toss, the Kerala-born decided to calmly pocketed the toss coin and went on to announce Rajasthan Royals will field first against Punjab Kings (PBKS).
"We have challenges to face while picking the XI. But I am happy with the players we have in our team. Very excited about the role," said Samson after winning the toss.
Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Punjab set a mammoth score of 221 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs, powered by the brilliant innings of skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda.
For Punjab, KL Rahul played a brilliant knock of 91 runs from 50 balls with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Deepak Hooda contributed with 64 runs from 28 balls.
