Indore: After rain played spoilsport in the series opener between India and Sri Lanka at Guwahati, team India started the year on a winning note as they outplayed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20 International on Tuesday. The convincing win gave the hosts an unassailable 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Earlier, the Indian bowlers fired in unison on Jasprit Bumrah's return to international cricket with Navdeep Saini shining bright as they restricted Sri Lanka to 142/9. 10:10 pm- Team India skipper Virat Kohli finishes off in style as he hits a maximum to help his squad take 1-0 lead at Indore with one match to go. Also, he scores 1000 T20I runs as captain of team India. 10:07 pm- It is turning out to be an easy chase, as expected with Kohli (24*) & Iyer (34*) at the crease. 6 needed of 18 now. 09:53 pm- Sri Lankan bowlers have managed stop the Indian batsmen from scoring runs easily. India still needs 44 runs off 6 overs to win. 09:43 pm- Hasaranga STRIKES ! The Sri Lankan bowler traps Dhawan in front of the stumps as the review goes in their favour as well. The speedster conceded 10 runs to start with his spell. Meanwhile, Bumrah, after bowling a couple of deliveries looked like his old self . 07:13 pm-  Bumrah made a good comeback after that lovely four from the Sri Lankan opener . Virat Kohli introduced right-arm fast medium Shardul Thakur into the attack. Opener Ferando has again showed his class as he hits Thakur for a lovely boundary by showing full face of the bat to the ball. Are we up for a big first innings total ? Sri Lanka: 12/0 after 2 overs .  07:03 pm- For India, Japsrit Bumrah starts off with a wide and is straightaway hit for a four in the very next ball by Sri Lankan opener Avishka Fernando. It seems that the Indore pitch is great to bat on. 06:30 pm- Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bowl first against Sri Lanka at Indore.   Virat Kohli: 'We will bowl first again. Pretty good wicket to bat, but in the first half, there could be some swing and nip around. It's a brilliant batting track. Pretty much on track, the main focus is to see youngsters take up the pressure - need to see who can do that, in big games, we need 11 fit players ready to go. There is healthy competition within the group.
